Ducks Beat Bears 9-4

Newark, NJ – The Newark Bears were defeated by the Long Island Ducks 9-4 at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium in downtown Newark, NJ.
The Ducks had a big fifth inning, putting seven runs on the board, starting with a home run by designated hitter Preston Wilson, his fourth this season. Lew Ford and Ray Navarrete each put a pair of runs on the board for Long Island.
The Bears retired the final thirteen Ducks at bat, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the five run deficit. Tike Redman, gathered one run off of two hits and Charlton Jimerson notched another two RBI to take his record to twenty-one for the season.
Newark’s Ryan Bukvich recorded the loss and Long Island’s starter Troy Cate improved his record to 4-2 with the win.
The Bears will face the Ducks on tomorrow evening at 6:05pm at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium. Wednesday evening will be Lady’s Night at the Den, featuring Danielle Staub of BRAVO TV’s Real Housewives of New Jersey.
